Alides strengthens its position in Brussels with the acquisition of Woluwe Gate

Alides, a Belgian developer and investor based in Ghent, has completed the acquisition of the shares of Poppy Caesar Ltd, owner of Woluwe Gate, an office building at the beginning of the Boulevard de la Woluwe in Woluwe-Saint-Pierre. The sellers were counselled by Cushman & Wakefield as real estate advisor for this transaction.

The building was renovated in 2012 and comprises 8,851 m² of office space, 339 m² of archives and 123 parking places. The strategic location near the centre of Brussels at the crossroad of Avenue de Tervueren and Boulevard de la Woluwe and the green environment of the Woluwepark and Parc des Sources offers a lot of future development opportunities. The multi-tenant building is currently rented for 92% to reputable tenants.

“The acquisition of Woluwe Gate illustrates our strategy to keep investing in buildings on prime locations. The most important criteria are the creation of added value and the possibility for future redevelopment. Today we remain focussed on strategic acquisitions and developments in strong urban locations in the Benelux,” says Rikkert Leeman, CEO of Alides.

At this moment Alides is developing different brand-new state-of-the-art office projects, among them the Copernicus project in the rue de la Loi in Brussels (15,000 m²) and the Forum project at Toemaattragel in Ghent (20,000 m²). The completion of both projects is to be expected by the end of 2020.
