Ghent, 22 May 2025 – Alides may claim the title of Best Managed Company for the third consecutive year. This quality label, awarded by Deloitte Private in collaboration with Econopolis and KU Leuven, recognises Belgian companies that excel in strategic thinking, sustainable growth, and resilient operations.

The recognition affirms the ongoing confidence in Alides’ integrated vision as an international real estate investor and developer. The Best Managed Companies programme uses a globally tested assessment framework that evaluates businesses in four areas: strategy, capabilities, engagement, and financial performance. Throughout the vetting process, each participant receives guidance from a coach at Deloitte Private, who critically questions and challenges the organisation to achieve further growth.
That Alides has received this recognition for the third consecutive year demonstrates that the company not only performs well under stable conditions but also excels in an increasingly complex and sustainable market. This consistency is not a coincidence; rather, it results from a clear long-term strategy and an agile internal organisation.
‘This recognition serves as confirmation for our team that we are also making the right choices for the long term,’ says CEO Rikkert Leeman. ‘In a sector where a lot is changing, we continue to invest in what we consider important: thoughtful development, sustainable construction, and firmly rooted entrepreneurship. We are proud to be able to propagate that again with this label.’

Family business at a human scale
Today, Alides has been in operation for approximately 133 years. The Ghent family business has once again impressed an independent jury with its clear direction, innovative approach, and unwavering commitment to quality and sustainability. The company operates in Belgium, Poland, and Luxembourg, focusing on residential and office real estate in central urban areas.
‘Today, we operate in three countries, yet we continue to think on a human scale,’ Rikkert Leeman specifies. ‘This balance between international scale and family business is a conscious choice for us and a source of agility.’
About Best Managed Companies
The Best Managed Companies programme was launched in 2017 by Deloitte Private, in collaboration with Econopolis and, from 2019 onwards, also with KU Leuven. The programme supports and acknowledges Belgian private companies that exhibit a strong vision, effective leadership, and sustainable performance.
The assessment is based on an international model developed in Canada and is currently implemented in over 45 countries worldwide. This label denotes quality, resilience, and forward-thinking entrepreneurship.
